All new teachers to the NT are expected to attend the NT Department of Education and Training 'Orientation in the Territory' program which is held at the beginning of each semester.  The 5 day 'Arriving in the Territory' event introduces new teachers to the services, systems, networks and contacts that support teaching in the NT.   A wide range of topics are covered including an introduction to the professional knowledge and standards needed to teach in the NT, cross cultural training, and hands on experience with online systems and resources.

During this event time is allocated for new teachers at TEGS locations to meet together, to meet members of the Leadership Team and to gain a better understanding of the way TEGS functions as a Group School.
