Welcome to our School!
Douglas Daly School is a small, remote school situated in a semi rural area. Douglas Daly is essentially a one teacher school with an assistant teacher support position. All year levels are taught in the one classroom but facilities include an extensive multi-purpose room and under-cover play area. Our students range from Transition to Year 6.
Douglas Daly School is located on the DOR Research Farm approximately 220kms south west of Darwin. The Research Farm is located near the junction of the Douglas and Daly Rivers.
Research is carried out on cattle and crops such as peanuts, maize, sesame, sorghum and mung beans. In the past there has been research carried out on crops like cotton and potatoes.Oolloo Road is the main road into the Douglas Daly Region. In the district we farm and grow cattle, crops and African Mahogany.
Tourism also plays an important role in the community. The Douglas Daly Tourist Park is 20 minutes drive from the Research Farm. It has a swimming pool and Douglas River swimming holes are close by. Douglas Hot Springs are also nearby. These are thermal springs which are really hot. The Tourist Park is also the local service station, restaurant, shop and post office!
