Nakara ASHC Philosophy
Nakara School Council After School Hours Care aims to provide safe, play-based supervision of children for our school community. We are able to offer a unique opportunity for children to foster friendships with children across age groups, Providing opportunities to develop social skills Developing leadership qualities in our older children and confidence and resilience for younger.
We aim to foster the concept of ownership and consequences for our behaviour and responsibility for our community – looking after centre animals, using recycled materials, composting scraps and collecting funds for charities.
Freedom of choice in experiences is balanced by age appropriate programming and an understanding of how our actions and choices impact on others.
We believe that each child should be included and valued for their unique qualities and backgrounds. We encourage children to express their thoughts, needs and feelings as individuals.
Any rules implemented at the service come from the core concept of “no hurting”.
