Katherine South School Council is comprised of 7 parent representatives, 3 teacher representatives, 2 preschool representatives, 2 other invited members as well as the Principal, Assistant Principals and School Business Manager. Parents hold the majority of positions on the school council and are elected at the Annual General Meeting held before March 15 each year. All interested parents are encouraged to nominate for council positions. The council meets in weeks 3 and 8 of each school term and all parents are welcome to attend the meetings which are held in the staffroom at Katherine South Primary School at 6:00pm.
The KSPS School Council is responsible for making decisions to assist with school improvement. The council have input into the school strategic plan and operate sub groups to ensure actions are taken to enhance improvement through fundraising, community involvement and partnerships, infrastructure and facilities as well as financial responsibilities.
The school council constitution is available from the school office for any interested parents.
