Katherine High School Council is highly supportive of the work that the school staff do. The School Council comprises parents elected by the parent body, the Principal, and staff representatives elected by the staff body.
This group provides support and advice for the Principal in the area of policy, finance, curriculum, and strategic planning of the school. It also helps to welcome and engage families in the school community.
The school council regularly seeks feedback from the wider parent body. In this way, all parents have the opportunity to have a voice. Information gathered then informs future planning and practice.
The current chair of Katherine High School Council will be decided at the next school council meeting.
We generally meet 10 times per year, from February to November on the third Wednesday of the month.
All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend council meetings to listen to discussions and to put forward their feedback and point of view, however they cannot vote on motions unless an elected member.
