About Katherine High School
Katherine High School is a comprehensive, coeducational school that commenced educating young Territorians in 1988. Katherine High School is located in the town of Katherine approximately 315km south of Darwin and is the only Government high school in the Katherine region. The School serves a region larger than the state of Victoria and caters to a diverse socio economic clientele from a range of backgrounds: RAAF, traditional and urban Indigenous students, rural, public sector and business families. The Fordimail Hostel and Callistemon House provide hostel accommodation for students from remote areas. Callistemon House is a departmental facility managed by the Katherine High School Principal.

The School community recently engaged in wide consultation to create its vision Shaping Our Future Together and values of Trust, Honesty and Respect.  These are being embedded into our policies and practices. The original Katherine High School logo with the Grevillea Flower was designed in 1991 by then art teacher at the school, Lynn Smith. The School’s values which were Knowledge Honour and Success reflected the School’s initials KHS.
As part of the “rebadging” of the School a new logo design is currently being worked on.
