ANULA SCHOOL AS A MODEL FOR ECOLOGICALLY SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

A sustainable school is one that provides educational opportunities in its daily operations to create a total learning environment.  It is committed to contributing to a more sustainable future on a local and global basis. The whole school is a focal point of good practice in environmental and sustainability education with students, parents, teachers and the community interacting and learning together.

Environmental education for sustainability empowers all learners (students, staff, parents and community members) to assume responsibility for creating a sustainable future and for developing the resilience required to pursue a positive future.Anula School as a model for Ecologically Sustainability Development (ESD) supports the school mission and values statements.

It provides a real-life context, through which:

·         The whole school community can collaborate to provide students with the best possible education;
·         Transfer into behaviours and actions the values of

o        respect for self, others, property and environment
o        resiliency
o        life-long learning
o        innovation and creativity
o        collaboration
o        community.
