HEALTH CENTRE SISTER

The Health Sister carries out periodic screening of children at the school usually at age 5 years.

Year 6 students receive an immunization against Measles, Mumps and Rubella.

The Health Sister is also available to screen children (eg hearing, sight tests etc) should this be requested by parents.

CHILDREN'S DENTAL SERVICE

The Children's Dental Service offers to meet your child's dental needs in the school environment.

The school dental clinic is staffed by a dental team consisting of:

  • a Dental Therapist (trained specifically to work with children)
  • a Dental Assistant.
Visiting of a regular basis for specialist care is:
  • a School Dental Officer
  • an Orthodontist.
Children enrolled in the Children's Dental Service receive dental treatment suited to their individual needs. After an examination you are advised of the result and if further treatment is necessary your signed permission is needed before we can continue.

Treatment provided after examination may include:

  • fillings
  • repair of fractured teeth
  • fissure sealants
  • dental health education
  • individual oral hygiene instruction
  • extractions.
