Homework
Early Childhood Years T - 3
The main focus in these years is to foster interest and skills in reading. Take home reading books will form the basis of homework in Year T and 1. However the Early Childhood teachers have many suggestions and strategies to help parents assist their children.
In Year 2 - 3 children may be given more formal work to do at home - perhaps 2 or 3 nights each week or a weekly assignment - in addition to daily reading.
Primary Years
As in Early Childhood, reading remains an essential part of personal study. Set homework is encouraged but more formal homework depends on each teacher's personal philosophy and program. It is expected that teachers will outline their expectation of homework at the parent/ teacher meeting early in the School Year.
